Outpatient Service

Wellmore Outpatient Service helps youth and families overcome a broad range of behavioral and emotional challenges. These may include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Psychosis
  • Suicidal/Homicidal Thoughts
  • Developmental Delays
  • Substance Abuse
  • Grief/Loss/Trauma
  • Family Conflict
  • Separation/Divorce

Our Outpatient Service offers same day access for first-time appointments. Families are encouraged to bring their child in when it is convenient for them. We offer Open Access/Walk-in service In our Waterbury office during the following Hours:

  • Monday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Thursday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Friday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

NEW – Effective Saturday, February 4, 2017 we will also have Open Access/Walk-in service in our Naugatuck office, located at 150 Meadow Street, during the following hours:

  • Saturday: 9:00 am – 12:00 noon

Our clinical team will provide a thorough clinical evaluation and develop treatment goals with the family to address the identified issues. Evidence-based clinical interventions are offered through individualized treatment, group work, family sessions, parental guidance and case management as a pathway to meeting client goals. As strong advocates for our clients, clinicians also assist with linkages to other levels of care and services as needed.

Child Victim Services (VOCA)

The Victim of Crime Assistance Program (VOCA) helps children deal with the emotional aftermath of witnessing or being a victim of a criminal act, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, witness to domestic violence and secondary victims of homicide. In addition to therapeutic treatment, children are aided in obtaining information, community services and financial compensation.

Evidence-Based Treatments

In addition to our outpatient treatment services, Wellmore has teams dedicated to providing evidence-based interventions. These include:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
    TF-CBT is designed to decrease the symptoms which frequently interfere in the healthy functioning of a child who has experienced a significant trauma or loss.
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
    DBT is designed to improve an individual’s capacity to effectively manage his/her emotions and eliminate self-injurious/suicidal behavior.
  • Modular Approach to Therapy for Children (MATCH) MATCH combines 33 evidence-based procedures into a single, flexible system to treat childhood anxiety, depression, trauma, and conduct problems.

Psychiatric Services

Our team of dedicated doctors and advanced practice psychiatric nurses can provide psychiatric evaluation, consultation and medication therapy to clients who might benefit from medication to enhance their treatment success.
