Community Support For Families
Community Support for Families (CSF) program is a highly-sought-after service with years of positive results, helping families get back on their feet. We believe in collaboration with others, increasing awareness, providing education, and empowering families.

CSF is an in-home service that assists DCF referred families throughout the greater Waterbury, Danbury, and Torrington areas for 4-6 months. We are available to meet with families at a time or place that is most convenient to the family; we can provide service in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
CSF Workers and Parent Navigators partner with families for an hour a week to discover resources and support services, intensify the bond between caregivers and children, help families develop a sense of connection in their own community, and empower them to explore their families’ strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences.
• 97% of families who utilized CSF in 2020 reported that services provided to them were in their preferred language.

With the help of CSF staff, the family invites service providers, and natural supports to participate in ‘Child & Family Team’ meetings to ensure success. CSF emphasizes increasing the number of formal and informal supports and helps families realize what natural supports they have utilizing a wraparound philosophy. CSF is voluntary, available at no cost and all families we work with are referred by DCF, identified as in need of additional ongoing support. CSF is family-driven, strength-based, and culturally responsive in its partnerships with families.
